With the globalization process, the internationalization and intensification of competition have shifted the sources of competitive advantage of enterprises from cost-oriented approaches towards quality and innovation-oriented approaches. This change has caused not only enterprises but also countries to place technology and innovation at the foundation of their competitive advantages. In such a situation, it becomes extremely important for enterprises to make innovation and its management processes an integral part of their operational areas. We can see that the strategies of many successful enterprises are built on the basis of innovation management.
It is accepted that innovation plays a central role in realizing increases in productivity and production. In addition, technology and innovation play a significant role in factors that affect both the competitive power of enterprises and the economic development level of countries, such as improving quality, meeting the demands and expectations of consumers and customers, and creating new markets.
Currently, achieving such a significant success criterion depends on countries establishing systems that support innovation on one hand, and enterprises implementing innovation-based strategies on the other hand. Increasing the efficiency of innovation activities is related to strategic management of innovations and actively ensuring the unity of strategy and innovation.
The main purpose of teaching the innovation strategies course is to provide students with knowledge and skills related to the essence of the innovation process, types of innovation, the innovation creation process, innovation and creativity, the relationship between innovation and knowledge management, innovation strategies and their types.
Also, during the course, it is essential to ensure that students understand the role and importance of technology and innovation both in our lives and in enterprises, the international, national and intra-enterprise dynamics of innovation, and the strategies that need to be implemented to become an innovative enterprise, and to provide the necessary information in this regard.
