About TRIZ

TRIZ is regarded today as the most comprehensive, systematically adjusted invention knowledge and creative thinking methodology. According to TRIZ, problem solving can be approached in a systematic and structured way, rather than relying on “Trial and Error” or the experience of individuals.

Modern TRIZ is a large body of knowledge, which is a combination of a theory of inventive problem solving from all areas and systems evolution, analytical tools and methods for problem solving and analysis, collections of patterns of solutions.

  • Genrich Altshuller, the Father of TRIZ, lived in Baku for many years (from 1931 to 1990).

  • He studied in Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (now Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University) in Baku.

  • He started to develop TRIZ in Baku.

  • The first TRIZ institute - The Azerbaijan Public Institute for Inventive Creation was founded by him in Baku.

  • The first TRIZ seminar was organized by G.Altshuller in Baku.

Genrich Altshuller dedicated nearly 50 years of his life to creation and improvement of TRIZ.

Altshuller generated and developed TRIZ in Baku. Then theory re-emerged and migrated to the West. Today many of the Fortune 500 companies successfully use TRIZ methodology.
